1. Who this policy covers

This policy explains what information the LessMenu ordering platform handles when you view a menu or place a dine-in, pickup, or delivery order with a restaurant that uses LessMenu. LessMenu is the technology provider; the restaurant you order from also uses your information to fulfil your order, as described below.

2. What we collect

When you place an order, the platform collects: your name and phone number; your order details (items, notes, totals); your chosen pickup or delivery time; for delivery orders, your delivery address and — if you use the map — the location coordinates of your pin; and basic technical information such as device/browser data needed to keep your session and cart working.

For your convenience, your last delivery address can be remembered in a cookie stored only on your own device, so your next delivery checkout is pre-filled. This cookie stays on your device, is not used to identify you elsewhere, and you can clear it by clearing your browser cookies.

Order status links use long random codes so that only someone with the exact link can see the order's status. Status pages show the order number, its progress, and the total — they never show your phone number or address. Treat your status link like a receipt: do not share it publicly.

3. Why we use it

Your information is used to: process and route your order to the right restaurant, table, or time slot; enable pickup collection and delivery to your address; let the restaurant contact you about your order; provide support; keep the platform secure and prevent abuse; and produce order reporting for the restaurant you ordered from.

4. Who can see your information

The restaurant and outlet you order from, and their authorized staff, can see the order details needed to prepare, hand over, or deliver your order — including your name, phone number, and (for delivery) your address and map location.

LessMenu platform administrators can access data where required to operate the platform, provide support, or investigate security issues. Your information is not sold and is not shared with other restaurants.

5. Third-party processors

The platform relies on a small set of service providers to operate: web hosting; the WordPress and WooCommerce software that processes orders; a map and geocoding provider (used only when you interact with the delivery map — your pin coordinates are sent to that provider to display the map and suggest an address); and, where a restaurant has enabled it, a messaging/automation provider used to send you order updates (for example, that your order is ready or out for delivery).

6. Retention

Order records are retained as part of the restaurant's and platform's business records. Defined retention periods and self-service deletion are being developed; until then, you can request data questions or deletion through the contacts below.

7. Your choices and contact

For questions about how your order data is used, you can contact the restaurant you ordered from (its contact details appear on its menu page) or contact LessMenu through the contact details published on this site. Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information; we will honour applicable rights.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated as the service evolves; the version published here is the current one.

This document is provided for transparency and general guidance. It is not legal advice, and it may be updated as the LessMenu service evolves.
